We generally think of glory as success or triumph. For Jesus it’s in the shame and failure of the cross.

If the true God is revealed in Jesus, it means that our lives are not exposed as a way to shore up the court case against us…. the face that sees us is the face of Jesus Christ. The divine Son, who gives his life out of love on the cross for the sake of the whole world.

God or no God, the common assumption is that if we do or give something big enough or sacrificial enough then our problems will be solved.
