Important News About the Sonshine Lunch Club Soup Kitchen
In order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Sonshine Lunch Club Soup Kitchen will not be operating a sit-down, indoor meal as of March 16th, 2020 until further notice. Many vulnerable people in our community depend on this vital service, and Jesus said that when the hungry are fed, He is being fed. The importance of following Jesus' command is as important now as ever, as those who Jesus calls "the least of these" become even more vulnerable in times of crisis. We will, therefore, be providing a bag lunch "to go" for our clients to pick up during the times below.PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE BUILDING DURING THE LUNCH, OR AT ANY OTHER TIME. ALL PEOPLE ARE ASKED NOT TO CONGREGATE FOR ANY EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME.
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday*: There will be a bag lunch "to go" served on the front lawn 11:30-12:30pm at St. George's
Tuesday: There will be a bag lunch "to go" served by the Salvation Army at their location at 1580 Fitzgerald Ave.
Sunday: The "Food Not Bombs" community meal (not affiliated with the Sonshine Lunch Club or St. George's United Church) will consist of a bag lunch as well distributed on the church lawn, 2-3:30pm
For media relations, or if you have a large amount of food to donate, or can’t deliver it to our location, please call Kevin Elsasser, President of the Sonshine Lunch Club at 250-898-9246.
